NASHVILLE – Parts of Interstate 24 in two places in Nashville were at least partially blocked Saturday morning after two serious crashes.
Metro police confirmed they were investigating a fatal crash on I-24 westbound near the Briley Parkway in northern Nashville. TDOT was reporting that closure happened shortly before 6 a.m. Saturday after a multi-vehicle crash. It was expected to last until about 10 a.m.
Police are also sending a fatal crash investigation team to I-24 eastbound near Harding Place to investigate a rollover crash that happened overnight.
Heavy rains Saturday morning slowed roadways throughout Middle Tennessee. A crash further south on I-24 eastbound, near Antioch, brought traffic to standstill, as did a crash on Interstate 40 eastbound near Interstate 440.
